Tiles are a “green” product because they are made with natural materials including sand and clay. Tiles durable and long lasting as well as very easy to clean and are allergy friendly.
Below, Jim Aaron explains how to choose the perfect tile for your home.
Types of Tile
Popular and common tile options to choose from include stone, porcelain, and ceramic.
Porcelain and ceramic tiles are common for flooring in both businesses as well as homes. Porcelain tile is made with the same materials as ceramic but it classified by its density. Since porcelain tile is denser than ceramic, it can resist water and heat better. Ceramic is a light-weight option and is reasonably priced to fit many different budgets. Tiles come in an array of colors, styles, and patterns to choose. We also have natural stone tiles which are quarried from different locations so no two slabs are alike which means you can have a truly custom floor.
We also have wall and backsplash tile. These tiles are mostly ceramic, but we do carry other types such as glass and mosaic. Mixing the different types of textures together can create a unique focal point for your space.
Knowing where you want to install tile helps you to choose the correct type of tile for that space. For example, wall tile can only be installed on walls because it is not rated for foot traffic. Sometimes floor tiles can be installed on walls such as ceramic. If you choose to install tile outside, choose porcelain or stone because of their water resistance abilities and resistance to heat.
